Advisor Transitions · Wirehouse & Independent

Go independent. Keep what's yours.

Your clients, your brand, your data, and your economics stay with you. Axxcess runs the platform behind you: compliance, billing, reporting, trading, model management, and a transition team that has moved wirehouse teams, hybrid broker-dealer practices, and standalone RIAs. No equity taken. No brand dilution. Every conversation starts under NDA.

The assessment scores your readiness across 7 areas and recommends a path — instantly, no email required. With an independent custodian and no restrictive covenants, transitions complete in as little as 15 days.

Three ways in

Pick the model that fits. One platform behind all three.

Join our RIA under your own brand, let us incubate your team while your own firm registers, or bring your whole RIA onto the platform as an enterprise relationship. Three ways in; every one of them is a partnership with your firm, not a product sold to one account.

"I'm at a wirehouse and I want to own my practice."
Incubation model

We transition you and your team from your current firm onto our books and records while you establish your own RIA in parallel. Once your registration is approved, we port the fully transitioned business to your firm — no break in service, no disruption to your clients.

How incubation works →
"I want my own brand without running an RIA."
IAR affiliation model

Register with Axxcess and run your brand and your practice from inside our RIA. Compliance, reporting, billing, trade execution, and model management are handled. You own your clients, your data, and your business. Axxcess takes no equity.

The IAR model →
"I own an RIA. I want a platform partner for the whole firm, not another vendor."
Enterprise TAMP · your RIA

We work with your firm, not one account at a time. Axxcess operationalizes the entire RIA — billing, reporting, trading, sleeve management, alternatives, compliance support, client experience — under your brand, with enterprise economics that scale as you do. That is the difference between a platform partner and a model marketplace with an asset-management fee on top.

The enterprise TAMP model →
The honest question

Do you really own your clients?

You're a W-2 employee. You can't use the planning techniques you recommend to your own clients. You live in a high-tax state, and if you could run your production through your own P&L the pick-up would be six figures. Your firm is fighting headwinds you didn't create. The office shrinks every quarter, and every frustration traces back to bureaucracy.

Then you think about independence. Then you read your contract, and you look at the time and money left on your note. Your top clients need to move with you. Maybe all of them do. How do you resign and start the process?

Talk it through under NDA
Your plans are known only to you and Axxcess. We'll work with your legal counsel.
Your firm does not own your clients. Your clients decide who will serve them.
  • Clients self-onboard through your branded portal, volunteering their data and linking the very accounts you will transition.
  • You gain the transition data your employment agreement prevents you from using to pre-fill documents.
  • From there the onboarding is digital: position, pricing, and transaction feeds, e-signature, all under your brand, without interrupting service.
  • Built for advisors with restrictive covenants or at non-protocol firms — this is what you will get nowhere else.
The Axxcess difference

Vendors sit between you and your client. We sit behind you.

At a wirehouse, and at most platforms, the services your clients actually experience — the portal, the app, the statements, the billing, the planning — carry someone else's name and sit between you and the relationship. Axxcess delivers the same services up and through your brand instead. Your clients see you. We do the work.

Your DBA

Your name on the door, your agreements, your client experience — under your own brand, inside our RIA or on your own.

Your data

Segregated in your own child database. You control it, you can see all of it, and it ports with you if you ever register your own RIA.

Your brand

Portal, mobile app, reports, proposals, website — all white-labeled. Our in-house creative team builds it; your logo is the only one on it.

Your ownership

No equity taken, no closed-end contracts, no equity partnerships. The enterprise value you build is yours, in writing, in the MOU.

Technology second to none

Orion advisory-board member since 2015. 400+ SMA strategies, the Allocator, digital subscription documents, household aggregation, sleeve-level everything.

Services, not a toolkit

Other firms hand you software and a product shelf and send you on your way. Our team operates, supports, and executes for you every day — billing, trading, reporting, compliance.

Delivered up and through your brand, not between you and your client
What moves with you

The parts of a wirehouse practice most platforms can't carry.

Leaving shouldn't mean leaving your clients' holdings, lending, or research behind. Axxcess was built to bring the sophisticated book across intact.

Proprietary feeder funds

Worried about proprietary investments that can't transfer to an independent custodian? We bill and report on them inside the same client statement as everything else.

The most common reason teams don't leave

Prime broker & research

Axxcess has partnered with several premier wirehouses to manage money as an independent firm, with access to proprietary deal flow, prime broker, research, and trade desks.

Lending & cash management

Direct lending relationships plus securities-based lending and cash solutions through UBS Independent Advisor Solutions and Goldman Sachs Advisor Solutions — the liability side your clients expect from a wirehouse.

Alternatives

Private equity, private credit, hedge funds, and real assets alongside SMA strategies in one account. Digital subscription documents, capital-call and K-1 tracking, MOIC and IRR on directs.

Institutional custody

Schwab, Pershing, Wells Fargo First Clearing, Goldman Sachs Advisor Solutions, Morgan Stanley, and leading self-directed trust custodians. We also support LPL firms on SWM accounts, and firms with a direct Fidelity clearing relationship, through an Orion instance we or the firm set up. Custodian of your choice, one reporting engine.

Your brand, everywhere

Branded client portal and iOS/Android app, custom website from our in-house creative team, proposals and planning inside the portal — your name on all of it.

The Independence Readiness Assessment

Find out where you stand before anyone knows you're looking.

Fourteen situational questions about your book, your contract, your team, your economics, and what you actually want. You get a readiness score across seven areas, the Axxcess path that fits you — join, incubate, or your own RIA — and a realistic timeline. On screen, instantly, with nothing stored unless you choose to share it.

How a transition works

Confidential from the first call to live on platform.

Execute the NDA

Your business and client data are strictly confidential — as are our commitments to you. We discuss your transition under NDA, or with your legal counsel, so your plans are known only to you.

Sign the MOU

We put the economic and business commitment we will make to you in writing. The memorandum of understanding is drafted to your model and your client-support requirements, before you resign.

Transition, then grow

A dedicated team runs a documented plan with milestones, tasks, and execution deadlines. Marketing, business development, and growth accelerators are built into the plan, not bolted on after.

Timelines are a function of your current firm's relationship with you, your custodians, and your client account structure. With an independent custodian and no restrictive covenants in your employment agreement, we have completed transitions in as short as 15 days. Most transition documents are signed by clients virtually.

Economics, in writing

No equity. No closed-end contracts. No brand dilution.

Recruiting packages are built to keep you in place. Our model is built so you own the business you're building.

A typical recruiting deal
  • Grid payout on production; the firm keeps the rest
  • Forgivable note that ties you to a multi-year schedule
  • Retire-in-place strings that decide who inherits your book
  • The firm's brand, the firm's data, the firm's client agreements
  • Economics that change when the firm's strategy does
The Axxcess relationship
  • You own your clients, your brand, your data, and your business
  • Run your production through your own P&L
  • Straightforward, competitive economics set out in the MOU before you resign
  • No equity taken, no closed-end contracts, no equity partnerships
  • We earn our partnership with you the same way you do with your clients

The comparison describes common structures in the industry generally and is not a description of any specific firm's offer. Your economics are documented in your memorandum of understanding.

Questions advisors ask first

The answers, before the NDA.

I'm at a non-protocol firm, or I have restrictive covenants. Can I still transition?

Yes. Our process is built for both protocol and non-protocol transitions, and reviewing your employment agreement is one of the first tasks in the plan. For advisors who can't use firm data, our portal lets your clients self-onboard and link their own accounts, so the transition data comes from them. Every conversation happens under NDA, or with your legal counsel present.

What happens to proprietary products and feeder funds my clients hold?

We bill and report on proprietary investments that can't transfer to an independent custodian, so your clients see their whole picture on one statement. Axxcess has also partnered with several premier wirehouses to give independent firms access to proprietary deal flow, prime broker, research, and trade desks.

We're an LPL firm, or we clear directly with Fidelity. Can you work with us?

Yes. Axxcess supports LPL firms using SWM accounts, and firms that hold a direct clearing relationship with Fidelity, through an Orion instance that either we or your firm sets up. Your custody stays where it is; the platform services — billing, reporting, trading, sleeves, alternatives, client experience — run behind your brand on that instance.

How long does a transition take?

It depends on your current firm's relationship with you, your custodians, and your client account structure. With an independent custodian and no restrictive covenants, we have completed transitions in as short as 15 days. The standard onboarding workflow runs ten weeks, from child database set-up to your first billing review.

Do I give up my brand or any equity?

No. You can use your own brand or ours, your choice. Axxcess takes no equity in your business and does not use closed-end contracts or equity partnerships. All technology can be white-labeled — we are in it for your brand, not ours.

I eventually want my own RIA. Does that rule out Axxcess?

The opposite. Our incubation model transitions you onto our books and records while you establish your own RIA in parallel. Once your registration is approved, we port the fully transitioned business to your new firm with no break in service, and you can keep the platform behind you as a TAMP relationship.

Who owns the client data?

You do. Your data is segregated in your own child database, your clients sign your agreements, and your reporting carries your brand. If your business is ported to your own RIA, the data goes with it.

How do the economics actually work?

Before you resign, the memorandum of understanding sets out in writing the economic and business commitment Axxcess will make to meet your model and client-support requirements. You run your production through your own P&L. The specifics depend on your model and your practice, and they are the second conversation we have, right after the NDA.
