Axxcess Enhanced Strategies are oriented towards larger taxable investors facing high income taxes, large unrealized capital gains, or those with impending liquidity events. Our strategies are best suited for portfolios ranging from $3 to $300 million.
Stock options and equity compensation can create significant wealth, but they can also introduce challenges that traditional portfolio strategies weren’t designed to solve. Large concentrated positions, embedded capital gains, and high marginal tax rates can make it difficult to diversify without triggering meaningful tax consequences.
This is one of the reasons Axxcess Wealth developed Enhanced Portfolio Strategies — an approach designed to help advisors and investors manage complex portfolios where taxes, concentrated holdings, and equity compensation play a larger role.
Enhanced strategies go beyond traditional long-only investing by integrating tax-aware portfolio construction directly into the investment process.
Tax-managed long/short strategies
Understanding how tax benefits can be accelerated through a change in portfolio structure can help address the unique and complex challenges of taxable investors—addressing both current income as well as capital gains.
Systematic tax-loss harvesting
Retail investors now have the ability to implement tax-loss harvesting strategies that were previously available only to the wealthy, allowing them to now capture tax alpha in ways that weren’t possible with traditional investment vehicles.
Portfolio structures designed to offset capital gains and income taxes
The direct index structure is enhanced by introducing a long-short approach to not only increase the gross dollar amount, but accelerate the ability to harvest losses in any market environment.
So much so, that nearly the entire investment can be turned into capital gain offsets that can be used against other taxable events—all while growing along with the overall market.
As markets rise and fall, losses are harvested on both the long, and short sides of the index. For each individual security and tax lot in a portfolio, intra-year volatility becomes a tailwind.
Customized allocations aligned with each client’s broader financial plan
The benefits and ‘use cases’ are numerous and include using the tax benefits to offset other unrealized gains in your estate including Appreciated Stock, Real Estate, or an upcoming Liquidity Event. Axxcess has numberous Managers available on our platform, allowing investors to customize their strategy.
